06 March 2025 – The group attended the final UCSD MBball home game, a victory over Long Beach State to clench their first ever Big West Conference title.

03 February 2025 – Sarah's second paper is published in the Journal of the American Chemical SocietyExtreme Defect Tolerance for Electrochemical Intercalation in Wadsley–Roth Structures Demonstrated by Metastable NaNb7O18.

01 February 2025 – Work commences on a RTX-funded project on high-temperature ceramics.

02 October 2024 – Sarah and Tian are at Oak Ridge with the group’s first neutrons for low-temperature neutron diffraction of complex oxides.

01 October 2024 – Mirjam-Kim Rääbis joins the lab as a visiting scholar from Estonia. She will work on solid-state NMR spectroscopy of functional materials derived from carbon capture.

23 September 2024 – Summer interns Semra Turhan and Kai Bredemann join the lab as undergraduate researchers.

20–22 September 2024 – Group retreat in Joshua Tree.

20 September 2024 – Sarah’s first paper is published in Faraday DiscussionsNew layered lithium-rich metal oxides and NMR crystallography.

16 September 2024 – Robert Krumland–Dunning and Steph Meikle join the lab as graduate students in the Materials Science and Engineering program and are immediately shipped off to Oxford, UK to participate in the CASTEP Workshop to learn about DFT and NMR calculations.

05 July 2024 – Sarah and Ethan are at Diamond Light Source in the UK running the group’s first beamtime. Synchrotron X-ray absorption spectroscopy of new battery materials.

16 June 2024 – Max and Sarah are off to Italy for the Panacea Solid-state NMR School. Ethan is in Saskatchewan training at the Canadian Light Source.

21 May 2024 – Kevin Anderton joins as the first postdoc in the Griffith Lab.

28 April 2024 – The group survives the high-wire walk and completes the UCSD Challenge Course.

19 January 2024 – Ryan wins the 2023-2024 Physical Sciences Dean's Undergraduate Award for Excellence.

02 January 2024 – Ethan Alter joins the lab as a research assistant before starting as a graduate student in Fall 2024.

December 2023 – Elena Sjoblom and Max Varley join the group as graduate students. Max is joint with the Chen Lab.

01 August 2023 – Sarah Ko joins as the first graduate student in the Griffith Lab.
